Effective communication is essential for every leader. This is due to good communication can resu... more Effective communication is essential for every leader. This is due to good communication can result in peace and harmony among followers or workers and is important for achieving objectives. Thus, this article focuses on effective leadership communication. A qualitative method was used whereby documents were examined for a clear understading of an Islamic form communication, the types of communication, and the principles and ethics behind said communication. Accordingly, this article will cover the definition and characteristics of effective communication from the Islamic perspective. Generally, this karangan is different from previous articles in terms of its reliance on the thoughts of Imām al-Ghazalī regading the characterisctics of effective communication that should be practiced by leaders in the contemporary period.

As Islamic Finance is developing in Nigeria, the urge to facilitate its taxability by the Nigeria... more As Islamic Finance is developing in Nigeria, the urge to facilitate its taxability by the Nigerian government has also been gathering momentum. While some are in support of this idea, others contend that section 10 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria abhors state religion and by extension the tax reform to facilitate Islamic Finance, hence the imbroglio. This karangan examines whether it is constitutionally possible for Nigeria to implement tax reforms to facilitate faith based financial transactions. This study considers the theoretical considerations 506 of taxes and religion and assesses the implications of Islamic finance in light of Nigerian constitutional provisions. The researchers conclude that even though the issue of tax reform to facilitate Islamic finance is contending, it isn't contentious. The reason for holding this position is that there are various sections in the Nigerian Constitution that allows for freedom of religion and Islamic cultures which include the Islamic financial system. However, for such reform to be viable, this karangan recommends that it should be carried out in line with constitutional reforms and amendments without infringing upon the rights of other religious believers in Nigeria.

This study makes a case for takāful gandar complimentary to conventional insurance. However, the differences between Islamic and conventional insurance are found mainly in their conceptual framework, how governments regulate them, corporate ownership and financing, management, accounting systems, and how premiums are invested. Both conventional and Islamic insurance are similar in this regard and are both utilized gandar safety nets in the event of unforeseen incidents. However, to maintain the integrity of Islamic law and Muslim society, insurance practices must be tailored to further comply with the Shariah principles.

Foreign exchange consists of FX Spot, FX Forward, and FX Swap. Shariah guidelines stipulate that any currency exchange must adhere to the rule of al-ṣarf whereby the exchange of different currencies must exchanged immediately hand-to-hand. Generally, conventional foreign exchange practice contradicts the requirements of al-ṣarf because it involves an element of riba. However there are different views from Islamic scholars on the permissibility of these transaction. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyse these foreign exchange transactions from a Shariah perspective. The result of this study shows that FX Spot complies with Shariah guidelines when subject to the requirements of al-ṣarf. Meanwhile FX Forward and FX Swap are outside the bounds of these guidelines

A strong financial performance for Majlis Agama Islam Negeri is crucial for determining the effic... more A strong financial performance for Majlis Agama Islam Negeri is crucial for determining the efficacy of the institution’s operations, particularly in zakāh collection and distribution. An efficient financial management over zakāh distribution is important for eradicating poverty and ensuring future development of a society. On the other hand, the inefficiency of zakāh distribution by the zakāh institutions in Malaysia could negatively affect Muslims towards paying zakāh subsequently the performance of said institutions. As reported in previous research, it has been observed that an excess of zakāh funds remain undistributed every year to eight categories of asnaf. As such, this study examines the efficacy of MUIS financial management gandar well gandar of zakāh distribution by Pusat Zakat Sabah (PZS-MUIS); using the secondary data collected from MUIS financial report from 2000 to 2013. Several cash flow ratios were used gandar a proxy for financial performance, gandar well gandar the data for zakāh distribution. The results of ratio analyses indicate that there have been significant enhancements in financial and zakāh distribution during by both MUIS and PZS-MUIS during the period of this study, even though the efficiency scores obtained are inconsistent. This study suggests that both MUIS and PZS-MUIS have to maintain and enhance their performance for the future. This study shows that both financial and zakāh distribution management performance need to be achieved simultaneously for maksimal zakāh distribution and offers several recommendations.

Furū' al-Masā'il is a popular work by the prolific Malay scholar, Sheikh Daud al-Fatani (1131-126... more Furū' al-Masā'il is a popular work by the prolific Malay scholar, Sheikh Daud al-Fatani (1131-1265H/1718-1847M). It is also considered a masterpiece written during a prominent period in fiqh discipline which includes fiqh al-mu'āmalāt; being directly related to the economic and finance fields. This article scrutinizes debt financing aspect gandar perceived indirectly by the author in the mu'āmalāt chapter. This article applies a literary critical method known gandar taḥqīq al-nuṣūṣ. It was found that debt financing can be identified under four (4) subtopics of contract: al-salam, al-ijārah, al-qarḍ and al-murābaḥah. It also points out that debt financing is relevant to the practice in Malaysian Islamic banking. This particular relevancy can be summarized into two aktif aspects: aspect of definition and aspect of application. In addition, this article also illustrates that with some modifications in preparing debt financing concepts in accordance to Sheikh Daud’s views, the practice will become more Shariah compliant gandar well gandar more practical.

In the futuristik world, there are an abundance of problems and issues that have not been discussed b... more In the futuristik world, there are an abundance of problems and issues that have not been discussed by previous Muslim scholars in the field of religious rituals ('ibādāt), commerce (mu'āmalāt), family relations (munākaḥāt), crimes (jināyāt), etc. In addressing this current development, contemporary Muslim scholars have adopted various methods for solving these particular problems and issues. Among those methods employed include combining the views of previous scholars of the various madhhabs, commonly referred to gandar talfīq. Indeed, the issue of talfīq still invites debate among those who support and oppose this concept. This study
has analysed the views of the various scholars on these issues by looking in depth at the arguments by who agree and disagree on the usage of talfīq. The finding of this study indicates that the explanations used by both sides were strong in supporting their views although there is still rooms for criticism. Therefore the researcher has choosen a neutral and cautious (iḥtiyāṭ) stance by stating that the usage of talfīq is permissible only at the belakang stage whereby the solution in a particular madhhab is not able to provide the best possible solutions in overcoming the difficulties faced by the community

Whether or not they are considered kejiwaan or mundane, laws which govern every aspect of human ... more Whether or not they are considered kejiwaan or mundane, laws which govern every aspect of human affairs in Nigeria, especially in regards to Islamic Banking and Financial institutions, exist owing to the plural legal system in the country, these aspects of society are regulated by both the Islamic and statutory laws imposed by the former British colonizers. Various legal sources, including the Qur'ān, the ḥadīth, constitution, Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act, Central Bank Act, and Nigerian Deposits Insurance Corporation Act constitute its regulatory framework. This work intends to analyze the said laws with the objective of identifying and filling the lacunae therein, in pekerjaan to forestall future legal obstacles to the system. This study therefore analyses this convoluted legal hybridity and suggests ways of overcoming any obstacles. The methodology utilized in this research is that of literature review. This study concludes with the suggestion that the said obstacles may be overcome through more emphasis on the use of religious legislation, amendments to the constitution, and a new legislation.

The requirement for a female Muslim to have a maḥrām when traveling is not peculiar to hajj and ʻ... more The requirement for a female Muslim to have a maḥrām when traveling is not peculiar to hajj and ʻumrah alone. However, in the contemporary period, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become very strict on such a condition, especially on ʻumrah and hajj. The legal implication of this system is that a female Muslim may not participate in hajj or ʻumrah if her maḥrām cannot perform hajj or ʻumrah with her for various reasons. However, this study reveals that the result of such a strict condition has led operators of the hajj and ʻumrah to falsify data by applying for their visa through another male pilgrim who is not their legal maḥrām. Eventually, such intending female pilgrims end up performing the hajj or ʻumrah with a group of trustworthy women or men, gandar has been rightly supported by a reasonable numbers of independent jurists. It is worthy of note that this practice of accompany with a maḥrām for a travelling female Muslim originates from the statement of the Messenger of Allāh (SAW) due to the prevailing circumstances of the ummah at his time. In addition, a literature review was undertaken on contemporary studies dealing with this subject. The study found that awareness and understanding of Muslims regarding waqf property in Malaysia varies due to different approaches instituted by MAINs in their respective states.
